While the tech-capital of the country Bangalore reels under pressures of jammed roads, dismal power supply and choking drainage systems owing to its rapidly burgeoning population, extension of the city to Greater Bangalore has come up as a most sought-after alternative.

Spread in the vast area of 741 sq. km. Greater Bangalore proposes a congestion-free environment. At the same time, the advantage of being closer to main Bangalore areas always remain there.

The township, encompassing 111 villages, will cater to the population of 6-million with 150 wards under the management of seven City Municipal Councils (CMCs) and one Town Municipal Council (TMC).

Although the property market at Greater Bangalore is at nascent stages of growth and development, prices have already started going northwards.

A mega project of Rs 3,000 crore is underway by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation to develop a rapid bus transit system for the area.

Due attention has been given to the availability of basic amenities and about Rs 658 crore will be spent for the Greater Bangalore Water Supply and Sanitation Project.

Dream projects of metro and monorail are also under pipeline. Another project for building a 9-km flyover connecting the two has been duly approved and awarded to a Hyderabad based real estate developer like Nagarjuna Construction Company.

The planning is moreover done under the National Urban Renewal Mission.

Definitely, it’s the real estate market of the area that will be benefited the most with successful completion of these projects.

It makes sense to buy property in Greater Bangalore at these times as the prices are still under wrap. A number of multi-storeyed apartment buildings are under construction at different locations.

The density of population will also increase over a period of time and that’s why buying commercial property, be it an office space or a shop for a retail outlet, in the area also appeals.
