Home Insurance, in the recent years has evolved as a lucrative option in the Non-Life Insurance Business in India. United India Insurance in the Home Insurance sector includes covering any loss or damage to building and its contents, jewellery and valuables and home appliances. And the insurance policy is derived in the name of the householder exposed to any of the above possibilities.

The Company provides insurance cover on ten sections with option to choose a minimum of four sections for availing discount in premium while insurance cover against contents is mandatory.

  • Loss/damage to building and contents due to fire, lightning and other natural calamities
  • Burglary, house breaking and theft.
  • Any accidental loss/damage of jewellery and valuables
  • Any accidental loss/damage of baggage while on travel
  • Any accidental loss/damage of domestic appliances entirely due to
    electrical/mechanical breakdown.
  • Due to injury to third party or damage to third party property

The assessment of insurance amount is attributed to actual extent of loss or damage to property under respective sections chosen and the sum insured is the limit of maximum liability under respective sections. The Home Insurance policy is not responsible for loss or damage on account of

  • War and war like perils
  • Depreciation and consequential loss due to wear and tear,
  • Nuclear perils
  • Gross and willful negligence of insured
  • Violation of policy conditions
  • Loss/damage/liability where Insured's family or Insured's employee are involved as principal/accessory
  • Loss/damage due to intentional act/self injury/ influence of drug/intoxicant
